My name is Mrs. Janet Cedillo , and I am extremely proud to be a former student from DPS. Currently, I have the honor and I am very proud to be part of CMS Dual language Program. Last year, I taught 1st Grade but this year I will be one of the interventionists. I have been a Bilingual teacher for 10 years in DPS. I love TEACHING and I strongly believe that our bilingual students thrive from diverse role models who represent the students.
I am a Colorado Native, I consider myself a Latina role for all of my students but especially for my bilingual students. I obtained a Bachelor degree in Business Finance. Then switched to one of the most difficult professions… I became a stay home mom.(AKA Domestic Goddess.) I returned to school to get a Master’s degree in Education and Teaching Certification. Returned to DPS as a ELA-S bilingual teacher. Shortly after teaching, I completed my 2nd Master Degree from CU Boulder Bueno Center: in Cultural Linguistic Diversity. I love to be able to teach in my native Spanish language and I am passionate about teaching in a culturally responsive manner to all my students. I want to empower and create a new generation of powerful global bilingual students ready for the I world. I believe being able to speak different languages and understanding more cultures will open the doors to incredible opportunities in this world.
About my personal life, I have three beautiful children, a loving husband, and a precious dog, Rambo. In my free time I like to be with my family and cook and bake food. I also love to read, dance, sing, hike, and watch my sons’ sports.
Mi nombre es Sra. Janet Cedillo, y estoy muy orgullosa de ser una ex-alumna de DPS. Actualmente, tengo el honor y estoy muy orgullosa de ser parte del Programa Dual en CMS. El año pasado enseñé en primer grado, pero este año seré una de las intervencionistas. He sido una maestra bilingüe durante 10 años en DPS. Me encanta la ENSEÑANZA y creo firmemente que nuestros estudiantes bilingües prosperan a partir de modelos de roles diversos que representan la cultura de los estudiantes.
Soy una nativa de Colorado, me considero latina y un modelo a seguir para todos mis estudiantes, pero especialmente para mis estudiantes bilingües. Obtuve una licenciatura en Finanzas Empresariales. Luego, cambié a una de las profesiones más difíciles… Me convertí en una madre de familia. (AKA Diosa Doméstica.) Volví a la escuela para obtener una maestría en Educación y Certificación de Enseñanza. Regresé a DPS como maestra bilingüe ELA-S. Poco después de enseñar, completé mi 2º Master del Centro Boulder Bueno: en Diversidad Lingüística Cultural. Me encanta poder enseñar en mi lengua materna, el español, y me apasiona enseñar de una manera culturalmente sensible a todos mis estudiantes. Quiero dar poder a mis estudiantes y crear una nueva generación de poderosos estudiantes bilingües globales listos para el mundo. Creo que ser capaz de hablar diferentes idiomas y entender más culturas abrirá las puertas a increíbles oportunidades en este mundo.
La vida personal mía…tengo tres hermosos hijos, un esposo amoroso y un perro precioso, Rambo. En mi tiempo libre me gusta estar con mi familia y cocinar y hornear comida. También me gusta leer, bailar, cantar, caminar y ver los deportes de mis hijos.
