Welcome to Fifth Grade! My name is Andrea Wines, and I teach English Literacy, ELD, and Science. I am looking forward to being your student’s teacher this year. I have been teaching for nine years in bilingual education–mainly in fifth grade and some in sixth grade! For the last three years, I have been at CMS.I am a life-long learner and hope to inspire my students to grow and pursue their passions constantly. I am thrilled to be a part of this community and work with excellent students.

I am originally from Southeastern Ohio and relocated to Denver ten years ago. I completed my undergraduate studies at Ohio University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature. Then, I completed a two-year teacher preparation program at West Liberty University. I have also earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, especially my daughter and husband, exercising, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, traveling, reading a good book, and playing fun board games.

I think we will have a great year of learning with a positive attitude and hard work! I look forward to an exceptional school year!

¡Bienvenidos a quinto grado!

Me llamo Andrea Wines y voy a enseñar inglés, desarrollo de la lengua inglesa (ELD) y ciencias. Estoy encantada de ser la maestra de su hijo/a este curso escolar. Tengo nueve años de experiencia en enseñanza bilingüe en quinto curso y un poco en sexto curso. Durante los últimos tres años, he trabajado en CMS. Soy una persona que nunca deja de aprender y me gustaría inspirar a mis alumnos para que aprendan y encuentren lo que realmente les apasiona. Estoy encantada de formar parte de esta comunidad y de trabajar con estos maravillosos estudiantes. Soy originalmente del sureste de Ohio y me mudé a Denver hace 10 años. Estudié la carrera en Ohio University y soy licenciada en Literatura e Instrucción. Después, completé un programa de maestría de dos años en West Liberty University. También tengo un Master en Currículum e Instrucción en American College of Education.

En mi tiempo libre, me gusta pasar el tiempo con las personas que más quiero, especialmente mi hija y mi marido. Me gusta hacer ejercicio, animar a los Pittsburg Steelers, viajar, leer un buen libro, y jugar a juegos de mesa.

Estoy segura que vamos a tener un gran año de aprendizaje, actitud positiva y trabajo duro. Va a ser un año excepcional!
